ITB Student Gains Senior Cap for Leinster Rugby

ITB Sports Management and Coaching student, Aimee Clarke has certainly had a phenomenal year on the rugby pitch. The 19 year old from Donnycarney Dublin 5 has just been presented her first senior cap for Leinster Rugby.

A relative new comer to the rugby field, Aimee initially started out playing Gaelic football with the Dublin U17 squad and eventually progressed on to playing rugby, when she joined up with the U18s in Suttonians RFC. After only her second game for the club she had a trial for the Leinster U18s 7s team from which she was selected. Since then, Aimee has played 7s rugby for Ireland U18s, winning a UK School Games 7s tournament and has competed with the Leinster U18 Girls in the Interprovincial Series. It wasn’t long until Aimee made her All-Ireland League debut with Railway Union RFC, with consistent strong performances ultimately leading to this senior cap for Leinster.

Aimee is currently in the first year of her Sports Management and Coaching degree at the Institute of Technology Blanchardstown and recently received a sports scholarship at ITB to recognise outstanding sporting ability. This young star is definitely one to watch.
